We cordially invite you to the next "LesBar" in the city library - the actor Jakob Schleert from Theater Vorpommern reads from "Winterbienen" by Norbert Scheuer.
The diary-like chronicle of Egidius Arimond, who lives as a beekeeper in the Eifel region, begins in 1944. He is epileptic and only just managed to escape the Nazi euthanasia program. However, he is no longer allowed to work as a teacher. In order to finance his increasingly expensive medication, he helps Jews to escape by hiding them in his beehives and taking them across the border. And while his bee colonies buzz around peacefully, Allied bombers circle through the same airspace. - A haunting story in which war, love, escape and the annual cycles of bees form an unusual combination.
