Join our rangers on a guided hike around Thiessow.
From the village of Thiessow, the hike takes you to the stone pier, which was built as a high bank protection in the early 1920s. From there, you will climb the 36-meter-high Lotsenberg and learn exciting facts about pilotage in southeastern Rügen and the history of the Thiessow pilot watch.
The tour continues to the lookout point "Kleiner Königsstuhl", from where you can see the Greifswalder Oie. This was a restricted military area until 1990 and today houses a bird ringing station.
The hike continues to the southernmost point of the Mönchgut, the "Endhaken". From here you have a view of both the Baltic Sea and the Greifswalder Bodden. From here you will walk through the small fishing village back to the starting point of the hike.
Please remember to wear sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing. In case of weather conditions that bring dangers for the guests during the hike (e.g. storm), guided tours may be cancelled and if necessary by the ranger on site
