Lecture & Science

The lectures are a public event for interested parties and at the same time part of a UNI taster day plus for invited schools.

After an introductory lecture for the pupils on the topics of choosing a course of study, application, enrolment, starting a course of study and everyday life as a student in Rostock, Prof. van Rienen and her doctoral students will give generally understandable insights into current and future research in collaboration with CERN and at CERN from 11:00 am.

10:00 a.m. - How do I find the study program that suits me?
11:10 a.m. - 70 years of CERN - insight into research
11:25 - Superconductivity and superconducting magnets: How they improve particle acceleration.
11:40 - High frequency and cavity resonators: key technologies for particle acceleration
12:05 p.m. - Hands-on session: demo and demonstration objects to touch
12:30 p.m. - The future at CERN: What comes after the LHC?

Registration is not required. Participation is free of charge.
