Palace park and Luisen memorial
The castle ensemble in Hohenzieritz, together with the unique English-style landscape garden, is an outstanding example of 18th and 19th century architecture and garden design in the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Queen Luise of Prussia lived out her last days in the palace in 1810. The tragic fate of the popular queen is impressively illustrated in the Luise Memorial in the palace.
