Potato festival

At the potato festival at the AGRONEUM Alt Schwerin, everything revolves around the popular tuber on the large outdoor area. In the morning, it's time for the potato harvest. This is demonstrated in the traditional way. Pulled by working horses, the potato harvester hurls the harvest out of the ground and then it's time for everyone to get stuck in and collect it! Great fun that gets all visitors in the mood for the many other activities of the day. Potato throwing, sack races, potato peeling and a few more disciplines await all potato rally participants. The potato printing workshop will be colorful and creative. And, of course, the selection of popular potato dishes is varied and, above all, delicious! The big highlight of the annual potato festival is the colorful parade through Alt Schwerin with horses, decorated harvest wagons and rattling tractors.

Afterwards, the museum team challenges the clubs and communities of the region in the competition for the "Golden Tuber": it's all about fun, free entry for the participants, but of course also about fame and honor for the best overall performance in various disciplines in which the potato plays the main role. Teams wishing to take part can register for the competition until 15.09.2024.
