End the summer in an active sporting way - On Saturday, 02.11.2024, the traditional pier run will take place in Sassnitz harbor.
On Saturday, 02.11.2024, the traditional pier run will take place in Sassnitz harbor. The town of Sassnitz and the Sassnitz Tourist Board, together with many supporters such as Tourist Service Sassnitz, KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre, Sassnitz Town Harbour, Sassnitz Trade Association and others, have organized a colourful programme of good entertainment from 11 a.m. at the pier foot building in addition to the sporting event to mark the end of the season.
This year we are offering all active Sassnitz residents and guests a new running route. With slightly more differences in altitude and a new length, the circular course of around 7 km will run from the Windpromenade via Kurplatz, Sassnitz Wedding, Alt Sassnitz, through part of the town harbor to the Hafenbahn turnaround and back through the harbor via part of the outer pier to the finish gate on the Windpromenade.
The first starting signal at 12 noon is for the walkers, who can cover the long running route directly by the sea. Afterwards, at 12:30 p.m., there will be the well-known short 800-metre run directly by the sea for the children. Here, the laps run on the circuit can be counted as a donation run. The last starting shot will be fired at 2 p.m. and all registered adults will also cover the long distance. Every successful participant receives a prize.
