Jazz & Chanson, Classical Music

Christoph Reuter Classical improvisations! Music by Mussorgsky, Debussy, Grieg, Chopin and others.

The Berlin pianist Christoph Reuter is a musical border crosser. The trained jazz pianist loves to improvise on classical music by Mussorgsky, Grieg, Debussy and Chopin, among others, and merge it with other styles. Critics and audiences are enthusiastic. "For me, improvising is part of classical music," says Reuter. "It's like language with sounds: everyone knows the words that exist and uses them, but everyone uses them in a slightly different order and expression. For me, it's about the music in the moment with reference to the original piece." Reuter, who is also a musical cabaret artist, will also guide you through the concert in an amusing way. He will be inspired by pictures in the castle and incorporate motifs from Mussorgsky's piano cycle "Pictures at an Exhibition", among others. Experience well-known classical compositions in a spontaneously new, fascinating guise. You will be surprised!

Press quotes:
"...great art and a rousing concert experience that blends classical music and jazz in a wonderful way..." Ostseezeitung
"...not only excellently interpreted but also excellently improvised..." MZ
