Concrete localizations as well as imaginative reminiscences, consisting of various places in Stralsund, are interwoven anew through Steinberg's painterly-artistic language. A very interesting mixture of identification, association, memory, longing, history and perhaps also something fairytale-like is thus created from the real and the imagined.
The exhibition "BILDER EINER STADT, Malerei von Jens Steinberg" shows the artist's full range of skills, from naive-expressive to dreamy-romantic.
