This year's unification celebration in Schwerin gives the illustrators of the POPPY Field collective an opportunity to ask questions: What do we remember? How do we remember? And who remembers? The exhibition shows snapshots, small excerpts from the thought processes of remembering, painterly explorations of the before-and-after feeling from a present-day perspective and impressions of people who look forward by "looking back": to East Germany, to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, to a united country and human connections.
The illustrative magazine by Karen Obenauf will also be on display for the first time at the exhibition as part of the unification celebrations.
The exhibition and magazine are supported and accompanied by the Partnership for Democracy Schwerin.
The TISCH is accessible. The event will be simultaneously interpreted into German sign language.
