A democratic exercise
"How can we live together?"
Shouldn't the oceans also have a voice in a parliament that thinks about the future? And the forests? And, taking this idea further, shouldn't gender equality also be represented in this parliament? The Parliament of Things is a project for the democratic participation of young people based on the idea of French sociologist Bruno Latour. As a theatrical parliament in which scientists, activists and actors make the decision-making processes of a democratic society tangible, it aims to arouse curiosity about the upcoming transformations that the future demands of us as a society. Teenagers and young adults are invited to hear the voices of the forests and moors in the six sessions of the Parliament of Things and to vote on complex problems.
Parliament of Things thinks of theater not only as a cultural producer, but also as a platform for diverse democratic processes.
