Unique exhibition at Rostock Zoo
An impressive wave of creativity and commitment to species conservation has reached Rostock Zoo: more than 5,000 hand-crocheted animals have been submitted for the art project "Our new ZooMasche - Crocheting for Diversity". Until 22 May 2025, the unique "animal world made of wool for species conservation" will be on display in an exhibition in the Atelier Natur; as a colorful interplay of sea and land creatures that is intended to inspire amazement and reflection. All visitors to the zoo are cordially invited to get to know this somewhat different zoo in all its creative crochet diversity.
The collection includes an impressive range of handmade animals and coral reefs, an animal world of its own at Rostock Zoo. In addition to filigree shells with beads and elaborate reef ensembles, an artfully crocheted lionfish, snails with hermit crabs and a turtle just hatching from its egg stand out.
