Visit of the ceramics workshop with salt firing kiln and listed old partition cottage with farm garden

Angelika and Jürgen Reich's ceramics workshop is located in the classic farming village of Bartenshagen. Salt-glazed stoneware for everyday use is produced under the cane roof of the listed old partition cathedral. Turned on the potter's wheel, the ceramics decorated with floral or animal motifs are fired in a wood-fired kiln at 1250 degrees. The wood fire creates artisan-interesting surfaces, warm hues, and barely repeatable glaze defects. Nevertheless, the vessels meet all the requirements for tableware. In addition, Angelika Reich makes figurative ceramics.
But not only the pottery is worth a visit, but also the farm garden, as well as the entire listed property, for which the Reich family was awarded the Ludwig - Wegner - Prize in 2007.
