Museum festival
The nationwide Open Monument Day takes place every year on the second Sunday in September. Around 6000 historical buildings and sites are open to visitors on this day, which was initiated by the Foundation for Monument Protection.
The Waren (Müritz) Town History Museum is also taking part again this year and cordially invites you to the museum festival in the New Town Hall on Sunday, September 8, 2014, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm!
The building was erected in 1797 and extended and rebuilt 60 years later. This also gave it its current neo-Gothic appearance. The council scales and the "Bürgergehorsam" on the first floor have also been preserved. Since 1998, the town history museum has been located on the upper floors of the building.
Celebrate with us! Explore the New Town Hall on one of the guided tours on offer. Our Weighmaster awaits guests young and old at the Ratswaage. The "True Mayor" will be back in his office to receive wishes and suggestions. Enjoy coffee and homemade cake in the beautiful town hall. All children can explore the house in a museum rally and the grown-ups can also type on the old typewriters in the "children's office" .
