The Künstlerhaus Lukas is one of the most important places for artistic work and international meetings of artists in today's art town of Ahrenshoop. In 1894, the painter Paul Müller-Kaempff (1861-1941) built the "Haus Lukas" in Ahrenshoop as a painter's house. Müller-Kaempff is thus one of the most important founders of the now 125-year-old artists' colony of Ahrenshoop. Today, the house houses studios and accommodation. With the scholarships awarded every two years, visual artists, authors, composers and dance performers from all over Northern Europe come to present their works on the last Sunday of each year at the "Open Day". During the festival week, Cologne children's book illustrator Heike Herold, Berlin photographer Ingar Krauss, Leipzig graphic artist Claus Georg Stabe and Russian graphic artists E. Umanskii and A. Chebykin will offer an insight into their working processes. You are cordially invited to take a look "behind the scenes". The writer Yulia Marfutova will read from her new novel project at 5 p.m. and the choreographer and dancer Przemek Kaminski will present a dance performance.
