Open dialog according to the concept of David Bohm
On the last Monday of every month, we want to meet with all interested parties for an open dialog based on the concept of David Bohm (US quantum physicist and philosopher, 1917 - 1992).
The concept is designed for a group size of 10 to 50 people. We sit in a circle with the "talking stick" in the middle. After a short introduction, there is a check-in round where everyone briefly reports how they have come to the dialog today. Then comes the dialog round. Someone takes the talking stick and makes a contribution - the topic is free, it will certainly be about something that moves him or her at the moment. The baton is put back and taken by the next person who wants to speak - whether they respond to what has already been said or take the dialog in a different direction is up to them. In this way, a theme will emerge over time. At the end, there is a check-out round where everyone can briefly say what impressions they have of the dialog.
The open dialog is intended to provide a framework for a variety of encounters that might not occur so easily in everyday life. We all have opinions that are based on different assumptions and assessments. Here, we not only want to exchange our opinions, but also see the assumptions and evaluations behind these opinions. The aim should be to develop a deeper understanding of each other.
We look forward to seeing you there and hope that you are keen to get involved in this communication experiment!
