Musical reading
Stefan Gliwitzki has published his second satirical novel in 2025, proving once and for all that he has a second great talent alongside music.
The small North Sea island of Ooge is infested with tourists. Quite normal? Not quite. The hard-core islanders are angular and unbending in their resistance to the very thing that brings them all their wealth. The island is torn between a longing for peace and independence on the one hand and a desire for prosperity on the other.
And this at a time when the only option for those addicted to faraway places is their beautiful homeland, as traveling has become a challenge. The traditional vacation destinations of Germans are hardly accessible anymore because flying for private purposes is now only permitted for diplomats, superheroes and domestic cats with Instagram accounts for environmental reasons.
A hilarious story from the author of the novel "Quitt". Once again, Gliwitzki dissects the comedy and tragedy of life, exposes the mechanisms of our togetherness and at the same time transports his story to one of the most beautiful vacation destinations in Germany: Ooge. The mixture is just right. Gliwitzki's books are comedy shows in book form!
