Hermann Hesse's cult novel "The Steppenwolf" - Conversations and thoughts
YourOld Loveis a highly successful long-running hit at the Volkstheater Rostock, her latest book Altern is a regular on the bestseller lists like its countless predecessors: Elke Heidenreich is the grande dame of German literature.
What not everyone knows is that she is a big fan of Hermann Hesse and especially of his famous novel Der Steppenwolf. She is coming to Rostock especially to read from and discuss her clever and entertaining essay about this book. Also on the podium: director Vera Nemirova, who is at home on the world's great stages and is now staging another production here, theSteppenwolfand Viktor Åslund, the composer of the opera, which was a sensational success at its world premiere in Würzburg in 2016. Soloists from the opera ensemble and the opera choir will perform the musical part of the evening.
Afterwards, Heidenreich fans can have their books signed!
