SILENT READING NIGHT - Read together, enjoy in silence - from 6 p.m. on the 1st floor
It starts on April 04 at 6 pm with the 1st Silent Reading Night.
Reading is often a lonely affair. But Silent Reading Night is different: Stralsund City Library is transforming part of the 1st floor into a cozy living room where participants can read together - but each for themselves - in peace. Anyone interested is welcome to bring a book or choose one from the library, put their cell phone down and read.
The Silent Reading Night is the counter-program to the constant accessibility and sensory overload of everyday life and creates a special atmosphere in which to relax and concentrate on one thing: reading.
Snacks are provided by the Förderverein Stadtbibliothek e.V. The reading café is open for coffee and tea.
POCKET LAMP READING - for children aged 5 and over - 6:30 pm in the KiBi (3rd floor), admission from 6 pm

On April 4, the Stralsund City Library invites all children aged 5 and over to the children's library, starting at 6:30 pm with a flashlight reading. This is particularly exciting because the only light that shines during the reading is the flashlight of the reader. Afterwards it's time to turn on all the flashlights! It's off on an exciting journey of discovery through the children's library.
As places are limited, the city library asks you to register at stadtbibliothek@stralsund.de. Please bring your own (and charged) flashlight.
Parents are welcome to visit the Silent Reading Night on the second floor during the 20-minute reading or get a bag of popcorn on the first floor. Afterwards, the children's library can be discovered together by torchlight.
BIB QUIZ - 6:30 p.m. in the event cellar, admission from 6 p.m.

Based on the classic PubQuiz, all puzzle fans are cordially invited to the 1st BIB QUIZ on April 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the event cellar of the city library.
Stefanie Jarantowski from the Literaturkreis Stralsund will lead the quiz evening with exciting questions about literature, pop culture and general knowledge. Great prizes await the winners and the Förderverein Stadtbibliothek Stralsund e.V. will be providing drinks and popcorn for all participants.
As the number of teams is limited, the city library asks you to register your quiz team at stadtbibliothek@stralsund.de! A team can consist of up to 5 people.

Background to the nationwide Night of the Libraries event:
On April 04, 2025, the Night of the Libraries will take place nationwide: Under the motto "Knowledge. Share. Discover.", libraries all over Germany will shine brightly. With a colorful program of events, workshops, readings and guided tours, all citizens are invited to rediscover their library.
Stralsund City Library is taking part for the first time this year.
