Funny operetta by Paul Hindemith
After an argument, Eduard and Laura seek advice from Mr. and Mrs. M. They advise them to end the marriage and contact the Universum Group. The latter provides the beautiful Herrmann, who meets Laura in a museum, as the reason for the divorce. Eduard catches them both and, contrary to the agreement, gets angry and destroys a precious vase. He is imprisoned for this.
Hermann continues to perform his ominous service and declares his love for Laura, who is currently in the bathtub, in her hotel room. Mrs. M., however, has now lost her heart to the handsome Hermann and interrupts the spontaneous bathroom scene. A reporter and hotel employees make a real scandal out of it. Reason enough to divorce! However, the company has become interested in this cinematic sequence of events and sees a business model for its divorce services. Together with the press, they keep coming up with new scandalous stories with advertising appeal. The confused Laura and Eduard have become the news of the day.
