Her image-text works - collages, drawings and language fragments with new inventions of meaning - have been shown in many exhibitions, particularly in MV. Image and text do not illustrate each other here, but rather a mutual "expansion" of visual and verbal language takes place, which leaves plenty of room for the viewer's (and reader's!) own imagination.
Angelika Janz, born in 1952, studied German language and literature, art history and philosophy. She has worked as an artist, art educator and author since 1979. As an art and museum educator, she worked as a permanent freelancer at the Museum Folkwang (Essen) from 1988 to 2012, giving numerous guided tours, lectures and workshops.As a writer, she has published volumes of poetry and prose, written radio plays (RIAS Berlin and Radio Bremen) as well as experimental literature, realized actions and performances and received numerous awards. Since moving to Aschersleben in Western Pomerania in the early 1990s together with her husband, the sculptor and painter Dieter Eidmann (1940 to 2017), she has been involved in many socio-cultural areas and in schools and daycare centres, organizing festivals from 1998 to 2003 such as "Nordischer Klang", "Polnische Woche" and "Tanztendenzen", set up youth clubs in the old district of Uecker-Randow and ran writing and radio play workshops for children and young people.
She is co-founder of the Literaturhaus in Greifswald.In 2005, after a serious illness and with the great support of her husband, she founded the KinderAkademie in rural areas with many prevention and inclusion projects.For this, she received the "German Local Sustainability Award" in 2008, the LAG Soziokultur MV sponsorship award in 2012 and the "Excellent Places in the Land of Ideas" award in 2013. The KinderAkademie has been one of the 100 most sustainable projects in Germany 3 times.
