Exhibition of unique pieces of old wood-metal-stone-glass. Ceramics, woven and photo exhibition by Susanne Behnke. Open garden with garden café and bread from the wood oven.
You can visit our gallery and the 6500m² garden, which in 2012 was awarded the garden badge ,,Nature in the Garden" for sustainable management and ecological design. In all work, the focus is on the combination of nature and craftsmanship. Nature provides the basic direction of design when combinations of ancient native wood, scrap metal with natural deep rust, stone and glass are created. Decorative traces of weathering harmoniously blend into the design of decorative objects, most of which also have a utility value. It is important to counteract the general trend of throwing away. Not nostalgia, but preservation and use of what is worth preserving. When combining wood and glass, I work with a glass-breaking technique. In this process, utility glass is broken. By arbitrarily running break lines always new forms arise. All milled patterns are mainly designed freehand, are only repeatable in a similar form. This emphasizes the crystalline structure of the glass. This creates a slight ice flower effect, which makes the glass glitter in connection with a candle and, depending on the mood, different light effects can be seen.
Susanne Behnke shows photos in an exhibition in which nature is expressively staged by light and shadow. Ceramics and hand-woven items complete the offer. In our garden café we offer "art for the palate". Jams, liqueurs(Aufgesetzte), unusual cakes according to self-created recipes with unusual ingredients from our own garden and bread from the wood oven invite you to taste.
