Musically it goes, with many instruments, singing, humor, expertise and many episodes. Ralf Gehler leads through the history of traditional music.
Normally, an audience at a concert sits on chairs in a room and listens to the music. Not so with Dr. Ralf Gehler. With him you go on a journey. The folklorist and musician leads you on a walking concert from the farmer's to the shepherd's croft and from there to the village school of the open-air museum Schwerin-Mueß. At the same time it goes musically, highly interesting and entertaining through the centuries and millennia of musical traditions and music history. Ralf Gehler takes various instruments with him on his journey, all of which he can play: Horn, Bagpipe, Flute, Mandola, Jew's Harp, Harmonica.... From house to house he gives his audience insights into the world of the former villagers and their music as an integral part of their everyday life, whether singing, building instruments, playing or dancing.
There was, for example, the bustling life of folk musicians or the legendary festivals of our ancestors in the countryside that lasted for days and sometimes weeks. Tales, legends, archaeological finds and texts from the period between the 17th and 19th centuries provide exciting insights into the musical history of Mecklenburg. Whether in front of the farmhouse from the time after the Thirty Years' War, next to the shepherd's croft of the 18th century or in the village school around 1900 - the musical instruments and songs of the respective time can be heard. Some of the songs you can also sing along.
There is seating at the musical stations.
