Mathilda (Barbara Sukowa) returns to her old home in Frankfurt am Main, where she is an EU minister in the state government and advocates a tough border policy. One day, her longtime friend and artist Richard
(Lambert Wilson) turns up on her doorstep with 17-year-old Malik (Habib Adda), whom he has smuggled in from Morocco. She has to get him a visa. Mathilda's assistant, the lawyer Amina (Banafshe Hourmazdi), is supposed to solve "the problem". But Malik has his own plans. Left to his own devices, he inadvertently sets off an avalanche.
ANGELINA MACCARONE
Angelina Maccarone, born in 1965 in Pulheim, started out as a writer of song lyrics for Udo Lindenberg, among others, before completing her master's degree in literature. She made her debut in 1994 with the TV film KOMMT MAUSI RAUS, for which she also wrote the screenplay. Further television productions followed. The cinema productions FREMDE HAUT (2005), VERFOLGT (2006) and VIVERE (2007) enjoyed great success at festivals as well as with critics and audiences. She has also enjoyed success as a documentary film director. Her film THE LOOK about the actress Charlotte Rampling was nominated for the German Film Award. She won the German Screenplay Award in 2017 for her screenplay for KLANDESTIN. She has been a professor of feature film and documentary directing at the Film University Babelsberg since 2014.
