In a series of nature tours in the Greifswald countryside, residents and visitors to the city are invited to learn about the history and use of the landscape, flora and fauna. The focus is on the meadows - a multifaceted habitat that is illuminated from different perspectives in a playful reference to C. D. Friedrich's painting "Meadows near Greifswald". Nature, Friedrich's most important source of inspiration, plays the main role here.

Christina Lechtape invites you on a tour of the Ryckwiesen in Steinbeckervorstadt to find out what wet moors can do and why drained moors like the Ryckwiesen are harmful to the climate. We will look at historical maps, take a look into the drainage ditches, discover typical plants and look into the depths with the bog borer.
Admission: free, a donation is requested.

Sturdy footwear is essential, identification books are welcome.
