"Marijka and the 12 Months" tells the moving story of a courageous girl who overcomes life's challenges with kindness and bravery.
On Sunday 18.05.2025 at 16:00, the curtain will rise on the premiere of a new production by the Kreismusikschule "Carl Orff" Nordwestmecklenburg at the Theater der Hanseatic City of Wismar. With "Marijka and the 12 Months", the theater class, directed by Marina Pril, brings a magical family fairy tale to the stage based on the motifs of an old Slavic story.
"Marijka and the 12 Months" tells the moving story of a courageous girl who overcomes life's challenges with kindness and bravery. When her wicked stepmother sends her into the forest in the dead of winter to pick fresh violets, Marijka encounters the twelve mysterious months. Her kindness wins their trust and the months help her in miraculous ways. But envy and greed bring further trials... A story about friendship, justice and the magic of nature.

Spectacular music, first-class costumes and lovingly designed stage sets are the trademarks of Marina Pril's drama class. With plays such as "The Magic Flute", "The New Adventures of the Town Musicians of Bremen", "Much ado about almost nothing", "Witches' Choice", "Now it's getting really paradisiacal", "Once upon a time in Baghdad" and "To the Emerald City with Typhoon", the group has already delighted several thousand theater guests.
The play lasts approx. 1 hour.
