"Baroque Brazil" - With the Ensemble Barocco Evento
The "Barocco Evento" ensemble will perform a fiery baroque program that has already enjoyed great success at the Bach Weeks in Hamburg. In addition to works by Bach and Telemann, the audience will be surprised by a composition by the South American composer Villa-Lobos, which fits fantastically into the program. The Hamburg-based baroque ensemble Evento barocco was founded in 2013 at a French summer festival, where numerous musicians from different countries came together for concerts and public workshops. Back in Hamburg, Nicolas Thiébaud, principal oboist of the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra, and Christian Kunert, professor of bassoon at the Hamburg University of Music, as well as harpsichordist and organist Professor Wolfgang Zerer, developed a diverse repertoire of baroque works.
A few years ago, the ensemble was enriched by two new members: Eva Maria Thiébaud, first flutist of the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, and Tobias Grove, double bassist with the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. With the expanded possibilities, the ensemble offers the entire spectrum of the baroque repertoire for chamber music.
