The contemporary artist group Ko - lek - tiv develops installations from found and rediscovered objects. Installations that correspond thematically with the lost place character of the industrial site of the old Neu Kaliß paper factory. Always with the patina of the experienced and lived, exciting and bizarre art objects are created that take the viewer on an exciting journey into the past and touch them.
"The old paper factory exudes the pride of a bygone era of industrial culture with a pure lost place charm," says the artist group "Ko - lek - tiv " about the exhibition venue. Accordingly, they are presenting their solo exhibition on the 1st floor of Piko on the island factory. The partly industrial background of the material, which flows into the artists' work, is reflected both in the imaginative installation and in the humorously subtle titles, which are visible in the objects in this exhibition.
The artists' group Ko - lek - tiv works with found pieces of scrap metal, and so the first step in their work is to wander their gaze over this place of the discarded. Contrary to the well-known artistic theories of the objet trouvé, the artists do not make use of the fantastic, but rather create chains of associations for an examination of the nature of things and their everyday experiences. The specific peculiarity of the found objects is of interest and an appreciation of "scrap" as a valuable material.
