Lecture & Science

Lectures on topics from musicology and music theory.

17.00 "Complaining choir and grief box. What is theater doing today with the ancient art of lamentation?". Today, many voices are being raised that feel misunderstood. Anger, rage and disappointment are expressed on social media. What role does art play in this? Prof. Dr. Matthias Dreyer. reports on new forms of theater that make unheard voices audible.

17.30 "Parodies of concert formats". Can I clap between the individual movements? The classical concert is one of the few places where there are still fixed rituals and rules of conduct. This is why it provokes parody: the stricter the rules, the greater the fall. In the lecture we want to discuss concert parodies from different perspectives - and laugh together: 17.30-18.00 music theory, 18.00-18.30 music pedagogy, 18.30-19.00 musicology, 19-20 short film and podium. With Prof. Dr. Dr. Benjamin Lang, Prof. Dr. Friederike Wißmann, Deputy Prof. Reinier Ruesink, Junior Prof. Dr. Gabriele Groll, Prof. Dr. Oliver Krämer.

Discover our local knowledge and research landscape with us as researchers big and small! Lectures on topics from musicology and music theory.
