Poland, 1990 - American music journalist Ruth takes her father Edek, a Holocaust survivor, on a journey to the scenes of his childhood in the hope of understanding her family's troubled past. When Edek, unwilling to face his trauma, undermines the journey with his erratic and eccentric behavior, Ruth is forced to question him and the values he raised her with.
