The Symphonic Wind Orchestra Leipzig is an orchestra of the music city of Leipzig, in which music-loving amateurs and professional musicians come together. The most important task of the
ensemble is the cultivation and dissemination of symphonic wind music at the highest level. Concerts in the best music halls in the city of Bach (Gewandhaus, Kongresshalle, Haus Leipzig, Lindensaal) are enriched by summer open-air concerts, where the orchestra can demonstrate the full range of its tonal and stylistic possibilities. The orchestra has made numerous
concert tours in Germany and all over the world (including China and South Africa) and has always found an enthusiastic audience.
The orchestra's work has been recognized several times, most recently in 2017 when it won a gold diploma at the Prague Winter International Orchestra Festival and in 2019 at the highest level of the
German Music Festival in Osnabrück. The chief conductor of the Leipzig Symphony Wind Orchestra has put together a varied and exciting concert program for the 2022 summer music season. Musically, guests will be invited to indulge in memories - of their first love, their first concert, their first dance - as well as to discover new and exciting things.
The audience can expect an acoustic journey that is worth humming along to, feeling along to, dancing along to - listening along to. Music in a class of its own, played by an extraordinary orchestra.
