-In the evening of some days-
Few formations in German music history can build on such a loyal fan base as the band LIFT, founded in Dresden in 1973.
The musicians of LIFT know how to combine melodic rock and lyrical lyrics in a way that can only be found with a few bands in Germany.
In their studio productions and especially in live performances, you can feel the power of a music that has matured over the years and has lost none of its dynamism.
The albums "LIFT" and "Meeresfahrt" were produced in the first seven years of their existence.
Songs such as "Wasser und Wein", "Abendstunde", "Nach Süden", "Meeresfahrt" and "Tagesreise" are still an integral part of LIFT's performances today.
The year 1978 was a dark one in the band's history when band founder Gerhard Zachar and singer Henry Pacholski were killed in an accident on a tour of Poland. The song "Am Abend mancher Tage", which became the hit of the year in the GDR in 1980 and was also featured on the 1981 album "Spiegelbild", was written as a result of these impressions.
After several line-up changes, 2014 marks the beginning of a new chapter in LIFT's history.
With André Jolig (keyb) and René Decker (sax, keyb), the band returned to its musical roots in terms of line-up and arrangements.
In 2019, LIFT launched a new project under the name "Am Abend mancher Tage". In the style of an organ vesper, singer Werther Lohse and keyboardist Andrè Jolig present a new interpretation of LIFT music on the church organ, supported by former singers from the Dresdner Kreuzchor.
The band currently plays in the following line-up:
Werther Lohse ( voc )
Andrè Jolig ( keyb )
Markus Christ ( dr )
Jacob Müller ( bg )
Andreas Leuschner ( keyb ).
From 2023, the band can also be experienced again together with the Stern-Combo Meissen and Karussell as "Sachsendreier".
2023 the band celebrated its 50th stage anniversary with a concert in the Dresden Frauenkirche.
