As part of the special exhibition "The ship was our world. Sailors tell their stories"

Speaker: Captain Peter Jungnickel, Rostock

Captain Peter Jungnickel has been at home on many seas on cargo ships of the Deutsche Seereederei Rostock. And he has learned: The romance of seafaring has its limits!

In his richly illustrated lecture "Hard men and women, hurricanes and homesickness - about working and living on DSR ships", he will describe the most diverse situations of everyday life on board in the ports, at sea and the coexistence of the crews (many men, few women) during months-long voyages and the associated absence from loved ones at home. Everything can also be questioned afterwards!

You are cordially invited to the traditional ship in IGA Park on February 13, 2025 at 4 p.m. for a chapter of maritime history that will not be repeated in this form
