(in cooperation with the city archives and the museum's support association) Duke Bogislaw XIII of Pomerania Portrait of an important Renaissance duke Bogislaw XIII deserves more than any other that his memory is held in high honor here, because he did much good for the city and was eager to see it flourish. The splendor that radiated from the royal court shone once again, for the last time, in a particularly bright light over Barth in his time. The Duke will now be honored more than 400 years after his death in the form of a bronze monument designed by the artist and sculptor Claudia Weidenbach from Berlin, which will stand on the square named after him between the Bürgerhaus and Papenhof. The new volume in the Barth town archive's publication series is the first book to be dedicated so comprehensively and in such detail to the life and work of the last, important Pomeranian duke for our region and will be presented in a lecture at the town's Vineta Museum on June 20, 2024, at 6:30 pm.
