The fairytale family musical
The idyll on the "island with two mountains" of Lummerland is shaken when the letter carrier mistakenly brings a parcel containing a black baby. The orphan is given the name Jim by Luke the Engine Driver and is brought up by the shopkeeper Mrs. Waas.
The problem: when Jim Button grows up, he has to build a house - there is no more room for that on the tiny island. To avert the threat of overpopulation, King Alfonso the Fourth-From-Twelfth decides that the friendly locomotive Emma must be abolished.
As Luke the Engine Driver cannot part with his Emma, he decides with a heavy heart to leave Lummerland with Emma. Jim Knopf, on the other hand, does not want to part from Luke and decides to accompany his friend. On their journey, they experience the most exciting adventures, meet unusual creatures such as the make-believe giant Mr. Tur Tur and rescue the Princess of China, Li-Si, from the clutches of the terrible dragon teacher Mrs. Mahlzahn. In the end, a solution is also found for the return to Lummerland.
Children and adults - everyone is invited to join in!
The fact that the production has been so successful for many years is certainly also due to the fact that the special effects are not created by a technical miracle box, but by the audience. The audience are the rain, the sea, the mirage, the background choir and much more. Children big and small, parents and grandparents - everyone is invited to join in and is integrated into the action in one way or another, and at the end they are sure to take home some catchy tunes as well as the realization that nothing beats true friendship.
