Jana Sonnenberg - born 1978 in Stralsund - shows her images of nature. After training as an actress at the Vorpommern Theater Academy, she has been working as a freelance actress, puppeteer, director, author and concept developer for theater projects since 2002. Her work has always focused on the small, often overlooked stories and characters. This view of the world can also be found in her photography. In 2019, she began close-up photography alongside her theater work. Initially self-taught with a smartphone, later with a camera and macro lenses, her work focuses on the details of the natural world around us.
"Make the inconspicuous shine" is her motto. This results in poetic portraits of plants, flowers and shrubs. The unique beauties are usually staged with low focus. Jana Sonnenberg lives with her family in Zempin on the Island of Usedom.
