"Isn't Christmas time a wonderful thing"
Jazz and soul singer Jacqueline Boulanger makes a guest appearance in MV with her band for the annual Christmas tour. "The jazz voice of the north"; the name says it all!
This is how the Rostock native presented her federal state of MV this year at the Mecklenburg State Theatre, where she performed her "Willkåmen leev Lüüd - Botschaft" in front of the Federal President, the government and the entire diplomatic corps to mark the Day of German Unity.
At Christmas time, she has groovy and contemplative Christmas songs, amusing anecdotes about Christmas and top musicians from the national and international jazz scene in store for her audience:
Tino Derado (p) arranger and musical director
Lars Gühlke (kb) Brazil
Roland Schneider (dr) Berlin
Gabriel Coburger (sax) Hamburg
The singer also has her current CD and LP "Reach Out" in her luggage. Modern jazz to melt away to!
The magazine Deutsche Mugge writes: "That's how you can take prisoners... inspire and surprise right at the beginning of the album. Mission accomplished, after just a few notes you are hooked and listening spellbound to the music-making ensemble."
Welcome to pure joy of playing, a top-class ensemble, the joy of laughter, African temperament and a voice that gets under your skin!
