A new understanding of Bach's motets
In his book "Wenn Bach trauert", Meinolf Brüser proves that Bach's motets were not commissioned compositions by wealthy Leipzig citizens, but that the reason for their creation can be found in Bach's private life. In collaboration with the author, conductor Gordon Safari has developed a concert program that invites listeners to rediscover and experience these summit works of vocal ensemble literature.
BachWerkVokal is a vocal and instrumental ensemble founded in Salzburg in 2015 and dedicated to the historical performance practice of Bach's vocal works. Conductor: Gordon Safari
