The exhibition is dedicated to the role of wine in the history of Wismar.
The exhibition sheds light on various stages in Wismar's history for which wine was of great importance. For example, it examines the role of wine in the church or its relationship to Wismar politics. From an endowment by Henry the Pilgrim in the Middle Ages to secretly written wine recipes from pre-modern times, the exhibition extends almost right up to the present day and also tells the story of how the Hanseatic and port city came to have its own wine-growing region.
