At the Hotel Goldoni, Mirandolina meets the servant of two masters, Dottore Lombardi quarrels with the landlord Brighella, and two high-flying actresses pull the impoverished Marchese around the lobby by the nose ring. Beatrice disguises herself as a man and Clarice has to be proven wrong. The filthy rich Pantalone feigns paternal love as he tries to sell off his daughter for a profit.
