Commemoration of the end of the Second World War
In cooperation with the cycling and hiking friends, the town offers a history hike to the Rehna cross on the memorial hill. In 1872, there was a desire to erect a memorial on the hill on the road from Rehna to Benzin, but it was not until 1935 that it was opened. During these decades, the idea of the nation state intensified and led to terrible world wars. The historian Christoph Wunnicke will explain the history of the memorial on site and commemorate the end of the Second World War. Renate Schlatow will accompany the hike from Rehna Monastery to the memorial hill and back. Afterwards there will be coffee and cake in the courtroom.
