Ensemble Weltkritik deluxe - Cabaret Winner "Silberner Koggenzieher" 2007
In his lederhosen printed on his swimming trunks, Thomas Lühmlich flies off the handle as a wannabe Bavarian right at the beginning of the evening and is reminded by his stage partner of the only custom of the Ossis: a biography that has been broken several times. It gets very musical. We try and get lost in folk songs. We fail due to the audience's knowledge of the lyrics and because the political references are too obvious: Up on the yellow wagon FDP, DHL. Horch was kommt von außen rein - Immigration ..., Muss i denn zum Städtele hinaus - Gentrifizierung .... Maxim Hofmann has to play all three instruments of the evening alone. Standing (accordion), sitting (piano) and dancing (sound machine) as DJ Mondrakete. Maxim Hofmann attempts to bridge the gap between Otto Reuter and Georg Kreisler in an heirloom couplet.
Bettina Prokert sets involuntary wiretap transcripts of train drivers talking loudly all the time to music. The songs are all written, composed and practiced by herself.
The whole thing turned out much more osty than planned. We wanted to explore the German soul between Kant's Königsberg and Beethoven's Bonn and somehow ended up somewhere between Wurzen peanut flips and Schmalkalden nougat bars.
