Late Romanticism
In 2024, the music world will also celebrate Anton Bruckner's 200th birthday. He is regarded as the great symphonic composer of the Romantic period. The Greifswald Cathedral Choir and the Figural Choir of St. Johannis Church in Rostock (rehearsed by Prof. Dr. h.c. Markus J. Langer) will bring the Friedrich Year to a close with a performance of his Mass in F minor. It will be preceded by the specially composed cantata "And I saw a new heaven" by Gerd-Peter Münden. The Poznan Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of Prof. Frank Dittmer.
