Concert with the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin
In contrast to public opera and church music, chamber music in the 18th century extended into the private sphere. In concerts, coffee houses, salons and living rooms, it served as a pleasurable pastime for connoisseurs and enthusiasts as well as a means of representing one's own social status. This range is also reflected in the chamber music of the Bach family. The program includes works by Carl Philipp Emanuel, Wilhelm Friedemann and Johann Sebastian Bach.
