OSTKREUZ Agency of Photographers and the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship invite you on a pictorial journey through the period of division with the exhibition "Voll der Osten. Life in the GDR" invites you on a pictorial journey into the time of division. On display is an unvarnished GDR reality that even contemporary witnesses hardly remember today.
The exhibition presents over 100 known and unknown photos by Harald Hauswald on 20 panels. The texts for the exhibition were written by historian and author Stefan Wolle, who, like the photographer, grew up in the GDR. The exhibition panels have QR codes that link to short video interviews on the Internet in which the photographer talks about how and in what context the central photo on the panel was taken. The exhibition can be viewed during the opening hours of the Hans Fallada Library. Admission is free.
