Some pieces of music touch us so deeply that they conjure up images in our minds - vivid, powerful and full of emotion. That's how I felt about Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons . But when I heard the newly interpreted version by Max Richter two years ago, it was love at first sound.
I let myself be carried away again and again by the twelve pieces, from gentle spring to icy winter. Countless choreographies and images of dance and movement formed in my head. But one question remained: why does this masterpiece end in the cold and darkness of winter?
I wanted to take a different path, one that gives light and hope. That's why our Four Seasons begins in the fall and ends in the radiant summer. A journey through dance, music and emotion, full of energy, passion and joy.
