A double evening that once again underlines the wide range of content and style of the Deutsche Tanzkompanie.
Floating is considered unsafe and is often portrayed negatively. In contrast, Torsten Händler says: "Floating with happiness is the most beautiful form of transportation. Maybe on cloud nine, or like in the theater with the help of a bench? Whatever, love can make you float. But it also happens that you hit rock bottom again very quickly, usually unintentionally triggered by third, fourth, fifth ... parties. Giving up is not an option and the only thing left to do is to fight for your love. And that is happiness, on which you can then float together." The renowned choreographer and former artistic director of the Deutsche Tanzkompanie explores floating with our ensemble and wants to make us float - with humor.

In the first part of the evening, the ensemble of the Deutsche Tanzkompanie brings Caspar David Friedrich's "Chalk Cliffs on Rügen" to life. A key work of Romantic painting thus becomes the starting point for a journey of discovery into the characters' inner selves, a landscape of the soul. What was enduring, what was suggestive, is set in motion. Franz Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" forms the philosophical and tonal counterpart to Friedrich's painting. The music and the painting by the two contemporaries oscillate between being and passing away, abyss and idyll. Individuals emerge from the landscape, form couples, discover longings. Image, music and dance merge into a new work of art that touches the viewer in an unexpected way. The new production of Lars Scheibner's choreography is in the hands of our ballet master Vinícius da Silva.
