"The original"
"FAUST - The Rock Opera" is performed with professional actors, singers, dancers and a magnificent live band as a highly entertaining, entertaining and captivating rock spectacle. Only the texts by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe are used. The work captivates with its dramaturgy and the way the texts are processed in the specially developed compositions.
The composer and librettist, Dr. Rudolf Volz, tells the well-known story of Dr. Heinrich Faust in an ingenious version with 27 rock and pop songs. It deals with the great human themes of love, magic, guilt and death.
The arrangements, costumes and set are borrowed from the rock history of the 70s. The gesture of the production ties in with the folk play tradition of the time before Goethe and turns the whole thing into a spectacle somewhere between a rock concert, musical and folk play. The live show Faust I consists of two halves of 65 and 75 minutes.
The story
The tragedy "FAUST" has been around for more than 500 years. Over the centuries, the subject has often changed in the history of performance. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe created one of the most important plays, not only for German literature, but for the whole of world literature. The performance practice of "FAUST, Part One of the Tragedy" has covered a wide spectrum over the course of history. "FAUST" has been adapted musically by classical composers. In 1997, Dr. Rudolf Volz from Ulm created his version of "FAUST - The Rock Opera".

"FAUST - The Rock Opera" has been performed almost 800 times successfully and almost always to sold-out audiences. This makes the rock opera the most performed version of Faust worldwide. Many thousands of enthusiastic visitors have experienced this extraordinary and unique approach to Goethe's "FAUST" in a magnificent production.
