Every year on June 21, the worldwide, non-commercial music festival Fête de la Musique also takes place at the Jacques Wein-Depot Rostock. Originally launched in 1982 by French Minister of Culture Jack Lang, the "Fête de la musique" has become a global phenomenon that inspires music lovers and artists all over the world.
The music festival invites musicians of all levels to perform free of charge on streets and squares - including in Germany. The festival, which brings people together, has become particularly popular in Rostock and is once again offering a varied program this year.
Musicians and DJs perform free of charge on stages throughout the city, supported by local businesses and venues. The Fête de la Musique is free of charge for all visitors and offers a wide range of musical performances guaranteed to suit all tastes.
The festival is organized by the non-profit association "Fete Rostock e.V.", whose members work on the planning and implementation on a voluntary basis. The Institut franco-allemand is involved and of course happy to help!
