- Enthusiast orchestra Stralsund

The Enthusiastenorchester Stralsund has firmly established itself in Stralsund's concert life with its concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestra. It originated from a cooperative idea of the former General Music Director Golo Berg and has brought together amateur musicians from a wide variety of professional groups with members of the Philharmonic Orchestra to perform together.

The idea was to lure dormant talents of many music enthusiasts out from behind the stove, to open up new audience groups for the theater, to bring amateur musicians on stage at a higher level with professional musicians and thus to create a common enthusiasm for making music.

A win-win project.

The current GMD Florian Czismadia continued the project and eventually handed it over to the current musical director David Behnke. In the meantime, various concert programs have been rehearsed and performed. To ensure continuity independently of the theater projects, active members of the orchestra decided to found the "Enthusiastenorchester Stralsund e.V." association in 2018.
