"Cultural and natural history of the Ludwigslust cemetery" (Julia Weise and Uwe Jueg)
Join us on a walk through the eastern part of the 250-year-old Ludwigslust cemetery.
We want to get to the bottom of many questions on our tour: How did the imposing and unconventional bell towers come to be built, who built mausoleums in the cemetery and why, what do the contemporaries Johannes Gillhof and Otto Kaysel have in common, where did the deaconesses and their superiors find their final resting place, which people shaped the history of the town of Ludwigslust and what stories are there to tell about the "red priest" Bruno Theek?
But our tour is not just about buildings and people. We also want to pay attention to the large and very small plants: old solitary trees, the magnificent avenue with pyramid oaks, exotic shrubs and typical and endangered plant species.
Meeting point: 18:00 at the bell towers on Friedhofsweg
